Gunslinger Girl - Il Teatrino - 02

by: Tales

This episode we see the past of a young boy named Pinocchio. It seems that Cristiano took him under his wing and trained him to become an assassin. It’s quite sad that he shoots the little girl after killing her father. Reminds me of that time Rico shot the boy who worked at the hotel in season one.

Pinocchio seems to live near a little girl named Aurora as well. I think it’s quite obvious that she has a thing for him as they walk down the street. However, the feeling doesn’t seem to be mutual. She seems to be brushed off as he leaves for Genoa. My bet is that she’ll become involved somehow, but let’s hope that she doesn’t get killed.

Cristiano also tells Pinocchio to work with Franco and Franca. Franco seems to be overly suspicious as he enters the building. They seem to be working on a bridge bombing that will help Padania. Franca tells Pinocchio her views about not getting innocent people involved and Pinocchio sees this as a hindrance. I now have more respect for Franca at least now.

Section II seems to be following this case and will most likely meet Pinocchio next episode. I have high expectations for the next episode. So let’s hope it has some quality in it.

Gunslinger Girl - Il Teatrino - 01

by: Tales

I was surprised by the huge difference of Gunslinger Girl Il Teatrino compared to season 1. I really enjoyed the old style. It’s a shame that it changed and lost some of it’s atmosphere with the transition. The voice actors also seem to be different. I watched season 1 in a couple of weeks and it’s such a huge change. It’s as if I don’t know the characters anymore. I guess it’ll just take some time to get used to the new design and voice actors. However, the OP theme was amazing. It has to be my favorite without a doubt.

This episode opens up with Jose trying to find a gift for Henrietta.  The main focus seems to be on Section II trying to capture more members of the Five Republic. All three girls Triela, Henrietta, and Rico all seem to be on this mission. It must be a quite important for all three of them to make an appearance.

Jose and Henrietta are caught up in a bombing blast. They chase the suspects while the other girls get into place. The van is trapped in the sewer hole that Triela prepared earlier. I must say, Triela looked especially scary this episode with her rather large rifle. Rico quickly finishes off the other two who plan to use her as a hostage.

It also seems Henrietta is more curious than I thought. She opens the present that Jose bought for her. She is confused why there is another’s name on the kaleidoscope. Claes informs Henrietta of the story behind it and that it was actually meant for her. This was actually pretty interesting, since I had no idea of it. Let’s hope that this new season can keep us do almost as well as the last.

Gundam 00 - 18

by: Tales

This episode really disappointed me.   In terms of plot and action, this episode wasn’t too bad.  However,  on the ethical and moral standpoint, it was pretty bad. I can’t wait for this season to finish up.  We do learn more about the origins of the Throne Gundams though.  It seems that the Throne Gundams are almost identical, but run on a fake GN Drive.  We also learn that Veda doesn’t contain information about the creation of the GN Drives either.

Nena definitely has a few screws loose in her head.  She feels the need to shoot innocent civilians since they are enjoying themselves at a party.  Not only does Louise lose her hand but her parents as well.  I used to find Neena somewhat funny, but now she’s just downright crazy.  She also sends the message out that Celestial Being will even harm civilians for no reason.

I take back what I said earlier in my previous post.  The Trinity siblings do not have much experience fighting at all.  We see Graham Acre totally take control of the battle with Johann Trinity.  He slices his arm off with his own sword. That’s definitely something one wouldn’t expect.

Setsuna feels the need to act on his own again.  He heads to destroy the Throne Gundams and stop them from this needless killing that has been happening.  I doubt he can beat all 3 of them alone.  The next episode seems to be focusing on the aftermath of Setsuna’s action.  I’m hoping something good happens for Louise and Saji.  That scene was just too sad.

Tales:

Well I’m the owner of Symphonic Tales. I started this blog in mid 2007. I never really got around to blogging until late 2007 and early 2008. I’m quite glad I started to have the passion again. I’m a big CLAMP fan and loved Code Geass, Tsubasa Chronicle, and xxxholic. I am also a university student in the U.S. that plans to hopefully finish up by 2011.

I have always loved anime or anything Japanese related. The emotion in anime really beats what you watch normally on television or other movies. It’s this emotion that keeps me blogging and watching anime. I hope that everyone enjoys their time here reading my summaries and reviews. Everyone is more than welcome to comment making suggestions or concerns.

Gundam 00 - 17

by: Tales

This episode was quite informative and showed what some of the new gundams are capable of.  I did originally think that they would have little battle experience, but Michael Trinity handled the situation faster than most of the other gudam meisters would have.  Anyways, it appears that there was a wreckage with the blue haro on it 80 years ago.  Maybe this has something to do with the first generation of gundam meisters?  That’s what I’m leaning towards at the moment.  However, it seems the blue haro must have had the gundam throne data stored on it.  It also had it’s memory wiped and didn’t recognize Lockon’s haro.

The kissing scene with Nena and Setsuna definitely shocked me.  I was sure that Marina would be Setsuna’s first kiss if it ever happened.  Nena also was able to enter Veda’s communication room which Tieria uses.  This makes me wonder if the Trinity siblings may be super soldiers or something like Tieria.

Another fact about where the solar generators were created is answered.  They seemed to be created long ago on Jupiter when an expedition there took place.  I’m going to guess that Lockon’s haro was also on that wrecked ship.  it must have also carried some data on the gundams.  Either way, I’m quite interested to see what the provoked gundam meisters will do about the Trinity siblings taking over.  Will they accept them, or fight against them?  We’ll have to see what new developments happen next episode.

On a side note, Louise looked to be in the hospital for some reason after getting on the shuttle in the episode 18 preview.  I’m hoping they don’t kill off Saji for some reason.  That would make me somewhat sad for Louise.  I do enjoy their screentime.
